EXCEPTIONAL CREATIONS

Beyond the collection, Francisco Barri creates rare and exceptional pieces, each one a work of art. Inspired by Mexico's great artistic traditions, they unite fine leather, hand embroidery, crystals and precious stones. Mexican artisans embroider the textiles by hand; Barri then stitches or applies each crystal himself before the handbag is constructed, in a process that unfolds over several months.

VALENTINA TALAVERA BLUE WITH SAPPHIRES

Talavera, the hand-painted ceramics of Puebla, is one of Mexico’s best-known art forms. Here its blue and white patterns are embroidered by hand on unbleached cotton canvas using intricate textile embroidery techniques, set across the structured form of the Valentina and finished with two sapphires in the clasp.

EMPIRE OF LIGHT WITH DIAMONDS

One of the most complex pieces the house has created, Empire of Light brings together the architecture of Manhattan and the blue and white patterns of Talavera, Mexico's hand-painted ceramics. More than 9,000 crystals, applied one by one, recreate the lights of the New York skyline, with two diamonds set into the clasp. Created in 2025, it was auctioned for Marc Anthony's Maestro Cares Foundation in New York.

VALENTINA PENACHO

Inspired by the penacho known as Moctezuma's headdress, a feathered masterpiece of ancient Mexico now held at the Weltmuseum in Vienna. Its colours are embroidered by hand in cotton thread on unbleached canvas, with 1,110 crystals embroidered by Barri himself and rubies set into the clasp. Around 420 hours of work went into the piece, auctioned in 2024.

VALENTINA TALAVERA BLACK
WITH GOLD AND DIAMONDS

Talavera after dark. The most dramatic of Barri’s exceptional creations traces Talavera’s patterns in gold embroidery and crystals across a black ground, worked by hand in 128 metres of thread and finished with Italian hardware plated in 18-carat gold and a pair of diamonds in the clasp.
